Marketing On-line - Path to Enter new Markets: A base for the reusability of Blended Learning Components

Title:
Marketing On-line - Path to Enter new Markets: A base for the reusability of Blended Learning Components
Abstract:
An academic training is unlikely to fulfil all the needs of business people dealing with practical marketing dilemmas on a daily basis. The project “Marketing on-line – path to enter new markets” (MOPEM) is a response to this perceived deficit – it is a cooperation involving partners from five European countries (Poland, Germany, Portugal, Denmark and Italy) with the aim of creating modules and two “specialisation paths” dealing with advanced marketing methods within the European context. In designing the content and establishing a platform for independent learning, particular attention has been paid to company training needs. The project uses the idea of “learning paths”. In simple terms these are specific learning components, drawn from the overall programme. However, at a more fundamental level, we think that “learning paths” create the possibility of considerable dynamism, allowing students to select their course content according to their own needs or tailor it for the purposes of certification. Here we need to take four different areas into consideration: these cover content, technical, educational/ didactic issues, and sociological dimensions inasmuch as they relate to these areas. In this paper we want to address the key aspects of lear ning paths. For example, it is clear that single teaching modules must be capable of being linked together in a learning path so that it can be followed without interruption. There is also the question of which requirements must be fulfilled and what support can be used to enable us to generate learning paths that are both simple and varied. This is a matter that we would like to tackle from a didactic rather than a technical standpoint, i.e. determining which design regulations are to be fulfilled didactically such that modules become reusable. Our aim, however, is to produce some initial findings for a technical prototype.
